Buddy Keller Joins Golden LEAF Board of Directors
In February 2023, Carolina Commercial Contractors’ managing partner, Buddy Keller, was appointed by NC Speaker of the House Tim Moore to the Golden LEAF Board of Directors.
Golden LEAF is a non-profit organization established in 1999 to receive 50 percent of the annual payments made by cigarette manufacturers to North Carolina under the historic 1999 Master Settlement Agreement that included 46 states. For over 20 years, Golden LEAF has worked tirelessly to move the economic needle in North Carolina’s rural and tobacco-dependent communities through job creation, grantmaking, agriculture innovation, scholarships, workforce preparedness, and community competitiveness and capacity.
The foundation’s 15-member Board of Directors is appointed by the Governor, the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and the Speaker of the North Carolina House. Each board member brings experience from a range of industries and business segments, and unique perspectives and insights.
Buddy is honored to be appointed to this board and stated, “Golden LEAF exists to help the NC communities that need it the most. The Foundation staff and board are willing and able to work with community leaders to offer solutions for real and unique problems facing economically depressed and struggling areas. The resources available to Golden LEAF are immense and its commitment to improve rural NC is genuine.”
Buddy Keller and Carolina Commercial Contractors are involved with a number of local non-profit organizations including the Lee County Education Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club of Central North Carolina, the Kay Yow Foundation, the YMCA, CCCC Foundation, and more.
