Carolina Commercial Contractors Awarded Contract to Expand T.L.C. Building

Sanford, NC – Carolina Commercial Contractors (CCC) was awarded the contract and has begun work on a 2500 square foot expansion to the T.L.C. (Tender Loving Care) Home on Hawkins Avenue. This enlargement will add 10 additional bedrooms for residents, provide new office space, and allow for needed physical therapy space in the facility.

“Site work has already begun,” says CCC Project Manager Dave Richardson. “We anticipate T.L.C. residents and staff being able to move in to their new spaces in May of 2020.”

Rita Oglesbee, T.L.C. Executive Director, says “We are so excited about this new addition. It will really make life nicer for our residents and staff every single day. It will give everyone some breathing room in a space that was originally designed for children but that now services fully grown adults.”

T.L.C. began in 1987 as a home for children with special needs, but now services adults only. The T.L.C. Home, Inc. is a 10-bed, non-profit Intermediate Care Facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities and who have additional developmental and/or functional disorders such as:  traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, autism, blindness, and other adjustment difficulties. They provide therapeutic, residential, and habilitative services and 24-hour care. The spaces in the building are currently small and residents have little room for personal belongings and personal space.

CCC is a family-owned commercial construction company that began in 1998 and is based in Sanford, NC. Recent projects include South Park Village Apartments in Sanford, NC; Amelia Station Apartments in Clayton, NC; and multiple senior living facilities across North Carolina. “We are always happy to be doing work in
